Shkëndija ended a run of two matches without a victory in the domestic championship with a 3-1 win over Struga Trim Lum.
The duel began at a high intensity, with the first major moment coming in the 24th minute. Bojan Ilievski reacted carelessly and brought down Endrit Krasniqi in the penalty area, after which the referee pointed to the spot.
Krasniqi took responsibility and confidently converted to make it 1-0.
Shkëndija's joy did not last long. Struga Trim Lum quickly returned to the match through Stefan Jevtovski, who reacted best after a deflected ball and equalised at 1-1.
However, the hosts regained control before the break. Following a corner from the right by Krasniqi, Islami was left unmarked in the heart of the penalty area and beat the opposing goalkeeper with a precise low shot to make it 2-1.
In the second half, Nzengue's goal was disallowed for offside following a review in the VAR room.
At the other end, Zendelovski had an excellent opportunity to equalise again, but Gaye made a superb intervention to preserve Shkëndija's lead.
The key moment in Shkëndija's victory came in the 69th minute, when Mazari scored a spectacular goal for the final 3-1, confirming the Tetovo team's victory.
