Vardar is once again the leader of the first league table. This afternoon at the Arena in Skopje, Vardar defeated Tikvesh 3:1 and returned to the leading position in the table.
The host of this match had more of the game, created many chances, three of which were converted into goals, and the most deserving reason why the "red-blacks" did not record a more convincing victory was the visiting goalkeeper, Stevkovski, who despite the goals conceded had a great day and with outstanding interventions prevented the opponent from further shaking his net.
The hosts went on the offensive towards the Tikvesh goal from the very beginning, and the first chance to score was Azer Omeragic, who headed wide of Stevkovski's goal post. Then, in the 17th minute, Nemanja Bosancic hit the crossbar of the opponent's goal with a free kick.
In the 19th minute, Vardar took the lead. The action from the left brought the ball to Warren, who decided to shoot from the penalty area. The ball hit one of the Tikvesh defenders and tricked Stevkovski, who ended up in his goal.
On the opposite side, Ivan Ivanovski was the most dangerous for Vardar's goal. Situation two, in which he was centimeters short of catching the ball and creating danger.
However, at the very end of the first half, Zakarić's mistake in the middle of the field created a chance for Tikveš. In which, Ivanovski hit the ball sideways, and in the block made with a sliding start, Jankulov played with his hand. After the VAR check, the main referee Done Ristovski pointed to the penalty spot. The sure achiever of the harshest penalty was precisely Ivan Ivanovski.
The start of the second half was marked by a situation in which the newcomers Dimitar Todorovski and Edis Spahiu combined beautifully, but the striker was thwarted in his attempt by Hristijan Stevkovski.
In the 78th minute, Vardar had another extra chance. Rogers Mato started alone from his own half, walked about fifty meters and made a wonderful assist for Talevski, who was alone in front of Stevkovski but shot over the goal.
In the 82nd minute, Vardar finally got the much-desired lead. A great cross for Edis Spahiu, who broke free in front of Stevkovski and scored for a 2:1 lead.
In the 86th minute, Rodgers Mato put an end to all doubts about the winner of this match. He routinely converted from close range, placing it in the bottom left corner.
