Macedonia women's national team celebrated victory in Andorra, Nikolovska secured three points late on

Macedonia women's national team recorded an important away win against Andorra, triumphing 1:0 in the fifth-round match of the World Cup qualifiers.

Head coach Aleksandar Andov's side secured victory in La Vella with Nikolovska's goal in the 86th minute, rewarding their superior play and earning three valuable points.

This was Macedonia's second victory in the qualifying cycle, after the same Andorra side had previously been defeated in Skopje.

Macedonia started with: Panchurova, Gjorgjieva, Nikolovska, Petkova, Kolovska, Galabovska, Maksuti, Cvetkoska, Grozdanova, Velichkovska and Sulejmani. Pavlovska, Karpuzovska, Cvetkovikj and Emini also got their chance during the match.

After five matches played, Macedonia sit third in the group with six points. Hungary lead the standings with 13 points, ahead of Azerbaijan on nine.

Macedonia's national team will play its final qualifying match on 9 June in Bitola against Azerbaijan. Kick-off is scheduled for 19:00.
