All three VAR decisions in the Škendija–Vardar derby were correct

The derby match between Shkëndija and Vardar, from the 11th round of the First Macedonian Football League, played in Gostivar, was excellently officiated, with correct decisions in all challenging situations.

During the match, there were several situations that required particular attention and good coordination between the officials on the field and the officials in the VAR room.

Namely, during FC Shkëndija’s attack in the 30th minute, as well as in the 89th and 93rd minutes, when FC Vardar scored, three correct VAR decisions were made, in full accordance with the Laws of the Game and the VAR protocol. By drawing offside lines, three key situations involving goals scored following prior offside offences were correctly resolved.

The officials on the field and the VAR officials demonstrated excellent coordination, sound judgement and consistent application of the rules in all three situations.

Despite attempts to portray the officiating differently, we remain firmly committed to the integrity of the competition, with consistent adherence to the Laws of the Game and the VAR protocol.

Objective evaluation of refereeing decisions must be based on the facts, the rules and the specific situations from the match.
