Shkëndija wants a quick “wake-up call” and a return to winning ways

The defeat to Pelister left Shkëndija three points off the top. They already have a chance to make amends today in the match against Rabotnički.

The champions no longer have room for error; they will have to go for victory in every match until the end of the season.

„To be honest, that match against Pelister disappointed all of us, both us and the fans, because we did not have to lose those points. But now we have to be self-critical and take responsibility. The good thing in this situation is that we have a new match in three days, which gives us an opportunity to correct the mistake we made and return to winning ways,“ says Albin Zejnulai.

The Shkëndija player believes that the gap can be made up by the end of the season.

„There are still eight matches left and we are fully in the race. We have to leave the last defeat behind us and focus on the future. We must be aware that every match until the end is like a „mini-final“ for us. We have no room to drop points, so our motivation must be at its maximum, just as in a real final,“ said Zejnulai.

The Shkëndija camp is aware that the task will not be easy.

„There are no easy matches in modern football. Rabotnički are coming off a good run, but whoever wants the victory most and whoever works hardest on the pitch gets the result. We have to be responsible and fully focused. If we give 100% of ourselves, considering the quality we have, Shkëndija will have no problems winning the match,” Zejnulai stated.
