Vardar and Pelister played out a goalless draw in the evening derby in Bitola. Following their triumph over Shkendija, Pelister remain unbeaten against the second title contender as well, making the title race in the PMFL even more interesting in the final stages of the season.
As against Shkendija last round, Pelister’s absolute hero this time was goalkeeper Andrej Jovchevski, who managed to save several good attempts by Vardar and also thwarted the best chance for Skopje’s „red-and-blacks“ in stoppage time.
Vardar’s first threat came from Nikolov, who shot from 20 metres, but the ball went just wide of the goal. The next chance fell to Castaneda, who tried his luck in the 30th minute, but his shot was saved by Jovchevski.
In the 50th minute, Danev sent the ball sharply from the left towards the six-yard box, but Jovchevski intervened. A minute later, the Pelister goalkeeper also cleared the danger in his six-yard box and saved another chance for Vardar. Jovchevski also saved Castaneda’s attempt in the 78th minute.
The fifth minute of stoppage time brought the best chance of the second half. Matic did well to meet a deflected ball and shot from 17 metres, but Jovchevski produced a fine save. A corner was then taken, and Jovchevski intervened again. The final attempt came from Omeragic deep into stoppage time, but his header went over the goal.
