The Football Federation of Macedonia held a press conference today at which the new head coach of the Macedonian A national team, Goce Sedloski, was officially promoted.
The President of the FFM, Masar Omeragic, explained the decision to select Sedloski as the new head coach, noting that the federation believes in the need for new energy and approach in the face of the key challenges that await the national team.
"I would like to publicly thank Blagoja Milevski for everything he has done and for the results he has achieved. Changes are an integral part of football and we have come to the conclusion that the national team needs new energy in order to fight for a place in the World Cup. Participating in the play-offs is a success, but we believe that we can do more. We were looking for a coach with a 'fighter' character and we found him in Goce Sedloski. We believe in this decision and in our players. Nothing is over and we will not go to matches just to participate," said Omeragic.
Support for the selection of the new coach was also expressed by Goran Pandev, a former national team player and director of the National Teams, who emphasized that Sedloski is the right person for the position of coach.
"I congratulate Goce Sedloski on his appointment and thank Blagoja Milevski for everything he has done for Macedonian football. I have known Sedloski for many years, as a teammate and as a man with a strong character. I believe he is the right choice for the national team's head coach. He is a young and promising coach with experience, who can raise the level of the national team. I believe in him and wish him much success," Pandev said.
Goce Sedloski, a legend of Macedonian football with 100 appearances for the national team, will face the biggest challenge of his coaching career. This will be his second stint as a coach, and his first as head coach of the A national team.
"This is a great honor for me, but also the greatest responsibility in my career. I am aware of the expectations and the potential that this national team has. We will work on building a system and a team that will fight for every ball and give their best in every match. I will demand commitment, courage and desire from every player. I believe in the quality of the players and in the support of the FFM and my closest team of collaborators. Together we will try to achieve success and represent Macedonia worthily," said Sedloski.
Sedloski will make his debut on the bench for Macedonia in March, when they play Denmark in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
