Following their victory over Pelister, Vardar’s cadet team won the Macedonia Cup trophy and claimed the double in this category.
“The ”Red and Blacks” youngsters triumphed after a better performance in the penalty shootout, following a 3:3 scoreline after 90 minutes of play.
The finalists played an outstanding match in which the Bitola side took the lead twice, but Vardar ultimately managed to level the score.
Vardar took the lead in the third minute through Nezvat Asani. In the 38th minute, Enver Fejzulai equalised to make it 1:1, which was also the score at half-time.
Six minutes into the second half, Martin Talevski put Pelister 2:1 ahead. In the 64th minute, Admin Abdula scored Vardar’s second goal.
Just five minutes later, Jovan Mrmachovski scored to give the Bitola side a 3:2 lead.
Vardar took the initiative in the closing stages and, two minutes before the end, secured the desired equaliser through Ivo Markovski.
In the penalty shootout, Pelister’s players failed to convert two spot-kicks, through Jakov Presilski and Jovan Mrmachovski, while Vardar’s players beat Dimitar Mitkovski four times for a final 4:2 win on penalties, or 7:5 on aggregate.
