Vardar’s younger pioneers triumph in the Cup

With their 4:0 victory over Pelister, Vardar’s younger pioneers won the Macedonia Cup trophy.

The “red-and-blacks” were superior in the match against the Bitola side and deservedly secured the victory.

The main figure in the triumph was striker Ognen Jakov, who found the back of the net three times.

Jakov opened the scoring in the 20th minute. Ten minutes later, he beat the opposing goalkeeper again to give his team a 2:0 lead.

In the 36th minute, referee Jordan Jovanovski pointed to the penalty spot, but Jovan Pashovski failed to convert the penalty into a goal, as goalkeeper Ognen Bozinovski made a save from his shot.

In the second half, Vardar managed to score two more goals.

In the 65th minute, Nikola Jankuloski made it 3:0, while Jakov sealed the final score by finding the Bitola side’s net for the third time.

This was Vardar’s second trophy in today’s finals, after the pioneers had earlier proved more successful than Makedonija GP.

Another double-header on Thursday at the Petar Miloshevski Training Centre.

At 10:00, Vardar and Pelister will meet again, this time for the cadet trophy, while at 16:30 the youth final is scheduled, with AP Brera facing Shkupi.
