AP Brera’s footballers won the Macedonia Cup trophy in the youth category. This generation of players from Strumica confirmed their dominance throughout this season after previously also celebrating the league title.
In an excellent final, AP Brera were more successful than Shkupi after a penalty shootout. After 90 minutes of play, both teams had scored two goals.
Shkupi took the lead through Sudejs Cajani’s goal in the second minute after a precisely taken penalty.
Five minutes before the end of the first half, AP Brera managed to equalise, with Matej Sejmenov scoring the goal.
In the second half, AP Brera tried to take the lead, had the initiative, and their biggest chance to go ahead was missed by Igor Ristov, who found himself one-on-one with goalkeeper Sefer Musliu, but his shot hit the post.
However, in the 75th minute, Mario Mitrev managed to find the back of the net and give AP Brera a 2:1 lead.
The joy of the Strumica side lasted only three minutes, as Nejazi Nuhija managed to beat Aleksandar Trajkov and equalise at 2:2.
Neither team managed to score in the closing stages, so penalties decided the winner of the final.
The penalty shootout was marked by the two goalkeepers. First, Trakov managed to save two shots from Shkupi’s footballers, and then Musliu took centre stage, also making two saves.
In the decisive round, Trajkov first saved Huhija’s shot, after which Bojan Velkov beat Musliu to seal AP Brera’s triumph in the final.
The medals for the finalists and the winner’s trophy were presented by FFM President Masar Omeragić.
