Ohrid Lychnidos eliminated the defending champion Vardar

Ohrid Lichnidos and Shkendija Aracinovo advanced to the semifinals of the Macedonian Football Cup.

The leader in the second league competition, Ohrid Lychnidos, after better penalty shootout performance, eliminated last year's cup winner, Vardar.

The winner was decided by a better penalty shootout after the score was 1:1 after 90 minutes of play.

Vardar took the lead with Boban Nikolov's goal in the 60th minute of the match, and David Mateski managed to beat the opposing goalkeeper in the final moments and equalize the score.

The key moment in the penalty shootout was the intervention of the visiting goalkeeper Damjan Serafimov, who managed to save Dimitar Danev's shot, and the winning penalty for Ohrid was scored by Darko Ilieski.

In the second quarterfinal match that took place today, another victory for a member of the Second Macedonian League.

Shkendija Aracinovo, which hosted Kumanovo, defeated Rabotnicki 3:1.

Dario Desnic opened the scoring in the 40th minute. After exactly one hour of play, Nikolche Sarkoski increased the lead to 2:0. In the 64th minute, Besir Demiri scored the only goal for Rabotnicki, and the final 3:1 was scored by Zani Nazifi in the 85th minute.

Tomorrow in Kratovo, Detonit Plachkovica hosts Sileks while the duel between Struga Trim Lum and Shkendija Tetovo will be played on March 18.
