The penultimate match of the 27th round of the PMFL will be played in Gostivar, where the players of Arsimi and Pelister will take to the field at 13:00.
The first two meetings between these teams produced a total of 10 goals: in the first, Arsimi celebrated away from home with a 0:4 victory, while the second ended in a 3:3 draw, but both matches were played before the winter break.
In their most recent matches, Pelister defeated Shkendija and drew with Vardar, while Arsimi also faced the two leading teams in the last four rounds, losing 1:0 to Shkendija and defeating Vardar by the same score. The hosts also have a victory over Macedonia GP, which is why they have already announced that they want to maintain their positive run.
The goalkeeper of FC Pelister, Andrej Jovchevski, shares a similar desire. He has kept an excellent goal in recent matches, which laid the foundation for the good results against Shkendija and Vardar.
“This match is important for us as well, because we also want to continue our run of positive results. Our position in the table indicates that we need every point, so we must give our maximum and carry out the tasks assigned to us,” said the young goalkeeper.
The Bitola team’s coach, Marjan Sekulovski, points out that Arsimi are a team deserving of respect and that the Bitola side are not favourites.
”Under no circumstances would I agree that Pelister are going to Gostivar as favourites. First, we respect Arsimi, who have a roster of experienced footballers who have played for several PMFL clubs such as Renova, Shkupi and others, as well as several foreign players who raise the quality of the team. On the other hand, I do not underestimate my players either, so I would say that the balance of power may be 50:50, as in many other matches that also began at 0:0 with 11 players on each side. I expect a tough and combative match, and details will probably decide the winner. In every match, we try to neutralise the opponent’s dangerous aspects, as well as make the most of our own chances when they arise,” said Sekulovski, for whom this will be his third match on the bench of the Bitola club.
Previously, Pelister had not won three points in Gostivar, except when the two teams played as members of the Second Macedonian Football League.
