After less than 24 hours, Vardar are once again top of the domestic championship. Yesterday, Shkendija secured a high and convincing victory in Kavadarci, while today Vardar earned a routine three points against Shkupi at the Petar Miloshevski complex in Skopje, winning 7:0.
Right from the start of the match, as expected after around ten minutes of play, Goran Zakarić reacted well with a header at the six-yard box from Mihail Manevski’s assist to make it 0:1.
Shkupi briefly had a colossal chance when Ferati found himself one-on-one with Kjosеvski, who produced a magnificent save in the one-on-one situation.
After a series of further chances and efforts at the other end from Zakarić, Babunski and Omeragić, it was the experienced Babunski who increased the lead to 0:2 with a measured shot from the edge of the penalty area a few minutes before half-time.
Finally, in the last move of the first half, following a corner, Zakarić delivered the ball into the six-yard box. Darko Velkovski jumped but failed to make contact with his head, allowing defender Rustemi to do so and score an own goal.
The second half followed an identical pattern, with Vardar dominating on the pitch.
In a move in which Omeragić provided an excellent assist for Cvetković, who turned the ball into the six-yard box, Dimitar Todorovski scored with a sliding finish to make it 0:4.
New substitute Spahiu made an excellent run down the left and assisted Cvetković, who calmly converted for 0:5. Then, in the role of provider, Dimitar Danev brilliantly found Spahiu at the far post, and he finished first time for 0:6.
In stoppage time, Vardar captain Azer Omeragić set the final score at 0:7 with a wonderful turn-and-shot from outside the penalty area.
Vardar are once again top with 68 points, ahead of Shkendija on 67.
