Baškimi defeated Skopje 2-1 away from home and claimed their first three points of the championship.
Baškimi had the first chance when Ribeiro hit the outside of the net. At the other end, in the hosts’ first serious opportunity in the 14th minute, Angelov sent a precise shot, but Baškimi goalkeeper Aliu was equal to the task. Shortly afterwards, Ribeiro embarked on a solo run into the opponents’ penalty area, but the home goalkeeper Naumovski reacted brilliantly.
In the 18th minute, Ribeiro provided a cross into the penalty area, but Skopje’s defence managed to block Andri Stafa just six metres from goal. In the 25th minute, Ribeiro was inaccurate with a free-kick taken from 17 metres.
Baškimi took the lead in the 30th minute. The visitors launched a quick attack and, following Ribeiro’s assist, young forward Rashid scored his debut goal for the Kumanovo team. Three minutes before the end of the first half, Adis Murati found himself in a good position in Skopje’s penalty area, but his shot went just wide.
Baškimi also started the second half better. In the very first attack, Andri Stafa sent a powerful shot, but the ball went wide.
In the very next attack, the Kumanovo side extended their lead: Ribeiro took a shot, goalkeeper Naumovski parried it briefly, and captain Adis Murati collected the rebound and sent it into the net for 2-0.
Skopje’s first more serious threat of the second half also brought a reduction in the deficit. In the 69th minute, Limani illegally stopped Nikolovski in the penalty area, and referee Idrizi pointed to the spot. Ali Adem confidently converted the penalty, scoring his first goal in a Skopje shirt to make it 1-2, the final score.
There were no clear chances for either side until the end of the match, allowing the visitors to seal all three points. In the seventh round, Skopje will visit Škëndija Aračinovo, while Baškimi will host Vardar.
