An interesting match between Shkëndija of Arachinovo and Shkëndija of Tetovo was played in Chair, ending without a winner, 1:1.
The Tetovo team were the better side for most of the match and created several excellent opportunities as early as the first half.
In the 13th minute, following Endrit Krasniqi’s free kick, Tamba found himself in a good position, but his shot hit the post. Just moments later, the same player threatened again, but goalkeeper Stolevski made an excellent save. Soon afterwards, Krasniqi also tried with a powerful shot, but the home side’s goalkeeper was once again equal to the task.
The visitors’ constant pressure paid off in the 27th minute. Krasniqi found Krieziu brilliantly, and he was brought down by the home goalkeeper inside the penalty area. The referee immediately pointed to the spot, and Krasniqi himself converted the penalty to give Shkëndija of Tetovo a 0:1 lead.
The visitors also had more of the play in the second half and created several good chances, but they failed to extend their lead.
They were punished in the 77th minute when substitute Marko Simonovski found himself in the right place and found the net to make it 1:1.
Overall, the match was played fairly, with the former champions from Tetovo taking the initiative, but Shkëndija of Arachinovo once again showed that they possess quality and character. The Skopje team confirmed that they will be a difficult opponent for every team in the Macedonian First Football League.
Both Shkëndijas had to settle for a share of the spoils. The Tetovo side remain top of the table with 20 points and will play Skopje in Avtokomanda in the next round, while Arachinovo have reached 14 points and will prepare for a home fixture against Struga Trim Lum.
