Macedonian champions Vardar will welcome Bregalnica at the National Arena „Todor Proeski“ in Skopje at the start of the new First League season. Between the two European matches against Riga, Vardar are fully focused on the start of the championship as well, in which they will defend the title they won last year.
Midfielder Dimitar Todorovski says Vardar have an obligation to win three points at the start because the club’s ambitions are to compete for and win both domestic trophies, in the league and the Cup.
„The new season is beginning, and Vardar are defending the title. That means we have an obligation to play in championship style and win. I believe we will impose our rhythm and manage to secure victory, although we have the utmost respect for Bregalnica. The team from Shtip have quality and will certainly have something to offer in the First League this season. Nevertheless, we are fully focused and will not allow ourselves to be surprised,“ says Dimitar Todorovski.
Vardar will play against Bregalnica between the two legs of their tie against Riga in the second qualifying round of the Conference League.
„Every match has its own importance; at this moment, we are not underestimating the domestic championship at all. I believe the coaching staff will distribute the team’s strength and energy, and that Vardar will reach three points, of course with the help of their loyal supporters.“
The match between Vardar and Bregalnica is scheduled for 17:00 at the National Arena „Todor Proeski“ in Skopje.
