After two seasons spent in the Second League, Bregalnica are returning to the top-flight stage. The Shtip team reached the First League last season thanks to finishing first in the division below, and here are the Shtip „Blues“ back in the elite competition.
The draw wanted them to face a difficult mission in the opening round. They visit champions Vardar, attempting to cause a major upset against one of the title favorites in the new season as well.
Despite handing the favorite’s role to Vardar, the Shtip side say they are ready to give their maximum for a good result.
Bregalnica’s new signing, Filip Aleksovski, shared his first impressions of the new club and his expectations for today’s match against Vardar, as well as for the season.
„I am happy to be part of this club. From the first day, I have been received excellently by my teammates, the coaching staff and everyone at the club, which made my adaptation much easier. I expect us to have a successful season as a team, to be competitive in every match and to achieve the club’s goals. Personally, I feel fully fit and ready for the team; I will give my maximum in every training session and match to help the team, and I hope to score many goals that will make the fans happy. As for the match against Vardar, we know that a difficult opponent awaits us. Vardar are the favorites, but I believe in our quality and, if we give our maximum, we can achieve a positive result in today’s away match,“ said Filip Aleksovski.
