Vardar and AP Brera reach the semi-finals in the youth categories

The players of Vardar and AP Brera have qualified for the semi-finals of the Macedonian Cup in the youth and cadet categories.

In the youth category, Vardar eliminated Makedonija GP after a better performance in the penalty shootout, following a goalless 90 minutes.

Vardar had the chance to secure the win, but Makedonija GP goalkeeper Darko Jovchevski managed to save the penalty.

In the penalty shootout, Vardar goalkeeper Pavel Grbevski saved the decisive penalty to secure a 6:5 victory for the “red-and-blacks”.

Youth league leaders AP Brera also secured a place among the top four after defeating Rabotnichki 2:0. The Strumica side secured the victory with goals in the final 15 minutes. Matej Sejmenov scored the opening goal in the 75th minute, while ten minutes later Ivan Tanchev set the final score.

The other two quarter-final matches will be played tomorrow. New Stars will host Shkupi in Skopje, while Pelister will host Bregalnica.

Vardar and AP Brera have qualified for the semi-finals of the Cup in the cadet category.

Vardar eliminated Makedonija GP with a 4:2 victory. Nevzat Asani was the hat-trick scorer for the “red-and-blacks”, finding the net in the 15th, 36th and 49th minutes, while Luka Georgioski scored in the 60th minute.

Makedonija GP’s goals were scored by Darin Mihajlovski in the 42nd minute and Luka Knežević in the 86th minute.

AP Brera’s cadets defeated Rabotnichki 2:0, with Vlatko Manchovski scoring in the 75th minute and Stefan Vojcheski in the 89th minute.

Tomorrow’s matches are Pelister – Bregalnica and New Stars – Shkupi.

In the pioneer category, Vardar joined Pelister and Bregalnica. Vardar triumphed 8:0 away to New Stars this morning.

Nikolche Bataloski scored four goals, Kiril Stojanovski found the net three times, and Pavel Koteski scored once.

The final quarter-final will see Rabotnichki face AP Brera, with kick-off scheduled for 11:00.
