Sileks defeated Shkëndija 1:0 in the final of the Macedonia Cup and triumphed in the competition for the fourth time in the club’s history.
„As expected, tonight’s match was difficult. Shkëndija may have been the better side on the pitch, but that was part of the tactics. You cannot play attractive football in every match, especially in such an important one. We played as we had agreed. We deliberately moved Dodev to the left side to create an overload, and we succeeded in doing so. We scored at the right time and I believe we deservedly won the Cup. I congratulate the boys; if the championship trophy slipped away from us last year by a narrow margin, this year we won the Cup, which is a great success for us,“ said Vasoski.
„This was not Sileks“ best match of the season, but initially we agreed to close down all the routes and then strike with a powerful weapon after the 60th minute. That may be why Mirchevski remained on the bench, but precisely in those moments when the match was being decided, we scored,” Vasoski added.
