Coach Miodrag Božović made a winning debut on the Vardar bench after his team defeated Arsimi 2-0 in a match played at the „Petar Miloševski“ Training Centre of the Football Federation of Macedonia. The reigning champions thoroughly deserved the victory and justified their status as favourites.
Vardar scored the opening goal in the 25th minute. Spahiu played Zakarić in nicely from the left, and he found the back of Siljanovski’s net with his first touch.
Nothing happened in the first 30 minutes of the second half, and then several chances followed. Todorovski threatened, but his shot went over the goal.
In the 89th minute, Iljazi had an opportunity but shot just wide. Zakarić had a chance but failed to take it, and then, in the 102nd minute, Vardar scored a second goal. Omeragić played in Spahiu, who put the seal on the victory for the „red-and-blacks“.
