Struga TL narrowly defeated Shkendija 1:0 in the derby of the 13th round. Maleski scored the only goal for the home side in the 79th minute, putting Struga top of the First League table.
„It was not an even match, as we had the initiative on the pitch throughout, created chances, and there were also three VAR interventions. I think we were the better side than Struga TL today. They scored with one chance or half-chance, while they defended throughout the match. But that is football – if you do not score, it is normal that you will concede. We now have a break that will help us a lot, because this was our 19th match of the season and the rest will be welcome. I think we should use it to give more players a rest, because we have played too many matches. The break will have a positive effect on us,“ said Shkendija coach Artim Polozhani.
On the other hand, Struga TL coach was not satisfied with the first half.
„I think it was a good match and we won three important points. However, I believe that we did not play as we should have in the first half and did not implement what we had practised throughout the week. I would like to thank the players, who stepped up in the second half and deservedly secured the victory. As for the title race, the competition is fierce – Shkendija, Vardar and Tikvesh are all in the mix, and they have excellent teams. We will look to win every match, and God willing, we will be top at the end. I think we have a good team,“ said Blendi Shkembi, Struga TL coach.
