Today at the Todor Proeski Arena in Skopje, starting at 16:00, Vardar will host Tikvesh in a match that is part of the 29th round of the domestic championship.
The league leaders have a one-point advantage over second-placed Shkendija, who defeated Tikvesh 1:4 in Kavadarci just last week. That should serve as a warning, but also as motivation for the Kavadarci side to be at a far higher level at the Arena today and put in a better performance against the clear favourites.
„This spring, we have shown that we can compete with almost everyone and play quality football. We can also have a bad day, so that is how we can characterise the match against Shkendija. Today, however, I believe we are coming to Skopje to compete with a quality opponent. Vardar and the Arena are always a source of motivation for everyone, and the same applies to us. I expect a quality match, for us to take our chances and not allow the opponent to get into their rhythm. We want to return to the winning path and the results that brought us to this situation of a calm finish to this year's championship,“ said Kristian Ackovski.
Tikvesh are currently fifth in the standings with 40 points. In their recent matches, they have enjoyed far more success away from home, drawing 2:2 in Kumanovo against Bashkimi and earning three valuable points against Struga Trim & Lum with a 1:2 final score.
