Beqiri: I expected 3-4 points more, performances in Europe had a big impact on the results in the domestic championship

The current PMFL champion Shkendija finished the autumn part of the season in third position in the table, six points behind first-place Vardar, and five behind second-place Struga TL.

The coach of the Tetovo "red-blacks" Jeton Beqiri believes that his team should have had 3-4 points more, that is, to be closer to the two leading teams Vardar and Struga TL, but also that the European autumn and the performances in the Conference League group had an impact on the play and results of the Tetovo team.

"As for the points balance, I expected 3-4 points more. Also, the European autumn, the players' concentration on the performances in the Conference League, all this has an impact. I would also like to point out that there were 2-3 mistakes to our detriment and they affected the final table. However, we will concentrate maximally on the championship in the spring part, there are still 17 matches to be played and I think everything is open, although Vardar and Struga have a points advantage and are good teams. We hope to play much better and have much better results in both the championship and the Cup in the second part of the season," said Beqiri.

Regarding winter preparations and the transfer window, coach Beqiri stressed that the team will be strengthened, but it is possible that several players will be sold given the interest after the successful European autumn.

"The team will certainly be strengthened. We already have preliminary talks with some players. Now Shkendija's players will also be in demand on the market given their successful European performances, so maybe someone will be sold. But in any case, I think we will have a quality team for the second part of the season," concluded Beqiri.
