Shkëndija recorded their fourth consecutive victory after defeating Struga Trim Lum 2-1 at home in a match filled with tempo, twists and a significant role for the VAR system.
The opening minutes passed with both sides sizing each other up, with Shkëndija enjoying a slight territorial advantage. The first more dangerous threats came through Krueziu in the 16th minute and Krasniqi in the 20th, but their shots went wide of the visitors’ goal.
The home side’s pressure paid off in the 29th minute. Arbin Zejnulai provided an excellent assist, and Nzengue found the net to make it 1-0. A few minutes later, the same player scored again, but following a VAR review, the goal was disallowed for offside. Before the end of the half, Papa Fall tried to surprise the home goalkeeper Ramani, who was equal to the task.
Struga TL came out more aggressively in the second half. In the 55th minute, Radeski hit the crossbar, and during the continuation of the move, the situation in which Adurahmani committed a foul on Bunjamin Shabani in the penalty area was reviewed. The referee pointed to the spot, and Maleski converted in the 59th minute to make it 1-1.
An open game followed, with chances at both ends. Tamba and Zejnulai threatened for Shkëndija, while Maleski had an excellent opportunity for Struga, but Trumçi and Ramani prevented a turnaround.
The decisive moment came in the 84th minute: Following a quick Shkëndija attack down the left, Arbi Vosha fouled Nzengue in the penalty area. The experienced Besart Ibraimi confidently converted the penalty to make it 2-1, which proved to be the final score.
In a dramatic finale, Bojku and Maleski had chances to equalize, but goalkeeper Ramani and the Shkëndija defence held firm to secure a major victory and three more points.
