Macedonia defeated 4:0 by Denmark

The Macedonia national football team suffered a defeat away in Copenhagen, as Denmark secured a convincing 4-0 victory, deciding the match in the second half.

Although our team travelled with ambitions of achieving a positive result, that did not materialize on the pitch. The match also brought disappointment for coach Goce Sedloski, who had an unsuccessful debut on the bench.

In the first half, Macedonia mainly defended, while the hosts dominated possession and the chances. However, thanks to several assured interventions by Stole Dimitrievski, the net remained untouched until the break.

The picture changed completely after the break. Denmark took the lead just four minutes into the second half, when, following a poor defensive reaction, Damsgaard took advantage of the situation and put the ball into the net.

A second blow followed shortly afterwards. Damsgaard provided the assist, and Isaksen finished precisely to make it 2-0. Macedonia failed to regroup, allowing the same player to get on the scoresheet once again and extend the lead to 3-0.

The final 4-0 was set after an Eriksen corner, when Nørgaard reacted best in the scramble in front of goal and sent the ball past Dimitrievski.

With this convincing defeat, we have lost our chances of qualifying for the World Cup. The next match against the Republic of Ireland will have no bearing on the result, but it will provide an opportunity to repair the impression.
