Struga Trim Lum open the new season at home today (17:00), hosting newcomers to the top flight Shkëndija Arachinovo. Struga captain Bunjamin Shabani expects his team to start with a triumph and three points, but stressed that the opponents deserve the utmost respect.
„The match against Shkëndija Arachinovo is very important for us because it marks the beginning of the new championship. We worked hard during the preparation period and I believe we are fully prepared for the start of the season. Although they will be playing in the First League for the first time this season, they were very active in the transfer market and brought in several quality footballers. They are a team that deserves respect. We have analysed them well and must give our maximum if we want to start the championship in the way we desire,“ said Bunjamin Shabani.
Shabani is expected to make his 200th appearance for the Struga club in all competitions today.
Shabani is the player with the longest service at Struga Trim Lum. The Kumanovo native will begin his seventh consecutive season with the club, making him the most loyal player and the footballer with the most appearances in the team’s history.
„I can say that this is a great honour and a feeling that is difficult to describe in words. It is not easy to enter a club’s history, but that is happening to me. This shows how important the mutual trust, loyalty and respect we share are. Honestly, I feel at home in Struga and I hope we will celebrate this milestone with a victory in today’s match,“ said Shabani.
