Only a victory keeps Shkendija’s final hope of winning the title alive

With three rounds remaining, the six-point gap is the difference that separates Vardar from Shkendija. The Tetovo side is embarking on a mission to defend its championship crown. The two „slip-ups“—the home defeat to Bashkimi, followed by the draw with Sileks—have cost the reigning champions dearly, allowing their biggest rivals to establish a respectable lead with three rounds remaining in the PMFL.

Therefore, Shkendija will have to win its matches and wait for Vardar to „slip up“ in the next two rounds, before reaching the final stage in a situation where the head-to-head clash could decide the battle for the league trophy.

The Tetovo side will be weakened for today’s match against Struga TL, which kicks off at 16:00. Top scorer Besart Ibraimi, who is injured, will not play. Fabrice Tamba and Ronaldo Webster will also be unavailable due to suspension, while Reshat Ramadani will be sidelined for a long time because of torn ligaments. Imran Fetai and Endrit Krasniqi are also doubtful due to injuries, while Liridon Ljatif has a virus and his participation is highly questionable.

Shkendija also have a cup final against Sileks ahead of them, so there is a chance that this successful international season could ultimately end with a trophy.
