Sedloski: We did not come just to play a match

The Macedonia national team faces another clash with Switzerland tomorrow, ten days after the match in Skopje. Head coach Goce Sedloski expects a reaction from the team and a better performance compared to the first encounter between the sides.

„We know what kind of national team Switzerland is and what kind of players they have at their disposal. We must overcome the mistakes from the first match. We will take to the pitch to prove that we know how to eliminate the problems we had, through collective play and by standing together. Switzerland is a powerhouse, but we did not come here just to play a match—we came to achieve something. We want a good match and to celebrate after the defeats we have suffered,“ said Sedloski.

The head coach confirmed that the medical report is positive and that all the footballers are ready for the match, while he also announced changes to the lineup because of the congested schedule and the four matches played over a 12-day period.

„All the players who have been called up will get a chance. There will be fresh players and some changes, because such a period cannot be endured. I want more from every player. We also have young lads who have been well received by the older players, and we must improve from match to match,“ added Sedloski.

The head coach also stressed that the criticism should be directed at him, while the footballers should receive the necessary support at this moment.
