Pelister visited Tetovo at the beginning of March, but with the start of the new third round of the championship, just one month later they will once again face Shkendija.
In the autumn part of the season, the Bitola side played out a 0:0 draw under Kapinkovski, while in March, with Milan Stojanoski on the bench, they lost 2:1. Since that match, Pelister have been led by Marjan Sekulovski, who will be at the helm of the Bitola team on their road to league survival.
“Shkendija’s qualities are well known; they are a well-assembled and well-drilled team, with great individual quality. We have the utmost respect for the opponent; their results in the championship, the Cup and especially in European competitions speak for themselves. We must play as a team, calmly and in a disciplined manner. During these ten days, we tried to establish things that will be useful for tomorrow’s match. We want a positive result, and for that to happen we must play with maximum concentration and make the most of our chances,” Sekulovski points out, aware of the opportunities Pelister previously missed to secure league survival.
The new coach believes that the atmosphere in the team is at the required level and that the training period they had during the break in the championship due to national-team commitments enabled him to see how much effort the players are putting in.
“In football, anything is always possible! Although Pelister are in a more difficult position in the standings, the sun always rises for those who fight until the end. We will give everything to make such a turnaround happen as soon as possible,” the young Gabriel Krstevski optimistically predicts.
The rivals in the battle for survival, just like the Bitola club, will have a difficult task in this round: Rabotnichki visit Struga, while Makedonija GP will play Vardar. The match in Tetovo kicks off at 13:30, while the match between the Skopje clubs starts at 15:30. The final fixture will be played in Struga tomorrow.
