A convincing defeat to Turkey in the second match at the Mediterranean Games

In the second match of the group stage at the Mediterranean Games in Taranto, the Macedonia national football team lost 3:0 to Turkey.

The most deserving of the Turks’ triumph was Özder Özacan, who managed to get on the scoresheet three times.

The opening goal was scored in the 26th minute from a precisely taken penalty, while three minutes before the end of the first half the opponents managed to take a 2:0 lead.

During this period of the match, Macedonia had an opportunity to score, but Manojlov and Arifi failed to convert the best chances.

In the second half, Özacan got on the scoresheet again, scoring in the 59th minute.

In the opening match of our group, Tunisia defeated Morocco, and ahead of the final round, the chances of reaching the semi-finals have been reduced to a minimum.

Before the final matches scheduled for Wednesday, Turkey and Tunisia occupy the top two places with four points each, and they will decide the winner of first place in their head-to-head match. Morocco and Macedonia are in third and fourth place, respectively, and will play each other at 10:30.
