At today’s draw in Nyon, Macedonia’s women’s A national team learned their opponents in the new edition of the UEFA Nations League. Our selection will compete in League C, where they were drawn alongside the national teams of Israel, the Faroe Islands and Andorra.
League C features the national teams that, based on their standings in the 2027 World Cup qualifiers, were placed in the third tier of European international football. The winners of the six League C groups will secure direct promotion to League B, while the two best-ranked runners-up will have the opportunity to fight for promotion to a higher tier through the play-offs.
Following the draw, Macedonia women’s A national team head coach Aleksandar Andov shared his expectations for the upcoming matches and the challenges facing the selection.
„Andorra are a national team we know well and against whom we have recorded two victories. The Faroe Islands and Israel are selections we have not played against so far, but I hope that we will also manage to achieve positive results against them. However, we need to keep our expectations grounded. Our national team is in the process of rebuilding with younger players, including footballers from the under-19 and under-17 selections. This is a process that requires time, work and patience. I am optimistic and believe in the potential of this generation. For me, success will be to earn more points than in the previous cycle, continue developing the young footballers and gradually prepare for greater results in the future,“ the head coach said.

The group-stage matches will be played during three windows: from 23 February to 6 March, from 13 to 24 April and from 7 to 15 June 2027.
