As part of Matchday 8 of the First Football League of Macedonia, Shkëndija from Aračinovo visit Vardar. The Aračinovo side enter this duel with maximum optimism, buoyed by an excellent run of four consecutive victories.
After the home setback against Arsimi (0-2), Shkëndija found their winning rhythm and secured victories in difficult away matches at Bashkimi (2-1), Bregalnica (1-0) and Detonit Plachkovica (3-1, in the Macedonia Cup), while in the previous round they also defeated Skopje 1-0 in front of their home supporters.
The captain of the „red-and-blacks“, Besir Demiri, says that respect for the opponent ends when they step onto the pitch.
„This is a match like any other and it carries the same valuable three points. We are in excellent form, with four consecutive victories in the First League and the Cup. We respect the opponent until the start of the match, but on the pitch we will show no respect whatsoever; we are going exclusively for the win in order to continue our positive run and make our loyal supporters happy,“ Demiri said.
This will be the first head-to-head meeting between these two teams in the top-flight competition. The match will be played at the pitches of the „House of Football“ complex (FFM) at 20:00, with Done Ristovski appointed as the referee.
