The reigning champions Vardar did not start the new First League season as planned, and in the last round they failed to secure three points against Bashkimi, drawing 3-3 in Kumanovo. But that is already in the past, and the Vardar players are focused on the new challenge and want to return to winning ways.
At the stadium of the FFM complex, Vardar host the Shkëndija Arachinovo side this evening, perhaps the biggest pleasant surprise in the championship so far.
Miodrag Božović’s charges are thinking only about victory and three points, as Mihail Manevski explains.
„Vardar are the reigning champions and we always think only about victory. It is the same ahead of tonight’s match against Shkëndija Arachinovo. They are in excellent form and have strung together several victories, which is an added motivation for us to be fully prepared and approach this duel with due attention. We are ready for a competitive match and want the three points,“ says Manevski.
At the moment, Shkëndija Arachinovo are higher in the standings than Vardar, sitting in fourth place, two points ahead of the reigning champions.
The match is scheduled for 20:00 at the Football Federation of Macedonia ground and will be refereed by Done Ristovski.
